Concept 88 # 1

The most controversial issue at my school right now is the blocking of youtube. Many students and teachers alike feel that youtube would sincerely help their learning and teaching methods in the classroom. Others feels that it is necessary to block youtube because students would be easily distracted and therefore they would do no work.
My documentary would be about which teachers are against youtube and which ones are pro youtube.

Concept 87 # 3

If I could choose between being a pirate, an archaeologist, or an explorer, I would be an explorer. My quest would be to locate all of the ghosts in the world.

Concept 86 # 1

The most suspenseful movie I've seen is Saw. I think it is because I put myself in the movies I watch so when everybody is getting killed or stolen I think it's me. Some creative devices the movies use are not revealing who the jigsaw murderer is, and using the hooded costume with masks every time somebody is about to get stolen.

Concept 85 #2

I believe that it's better to not have loved at all. If you have never loved you don't know how to expect therefore you can be living with the curiosity without being hurt that somebody that you used to love is now gone. You can be alone by yourself and just imagine what love feels like.

Concept 84 #3

The scariest movie I've seen is the Fourth Kind. It was a type of documentary that showed the events that happened in Alaska with alien abduction. At the time it came out I went to go see it in the movie theaters and the things that scared me the most was the actual video footage, the owl that always appeared when something was about to happen, and the girl being abducted by aliens. None of these things had an actual relationship with any actual experience but the events seemed so realistic that I put myself in the movie too much and was very afraid.

My favorite superhero is Batman. He has no real superpowers but he has skill with his stealth and power. His background of being rich has given him enough tools to built the ultimate ride and ultimate weapons.

Concept 80 # 3

The event I would choose is a graduation. Everyone that is at the graduation will be very happy and excited but their will be a group of outcasts that will ruin the entire event. The group of outcasts are mental unstable and hate everyone at the school therefore they have decided to kill everyone by strapping bombs to themselves and blowing everyone up. The other students are tested to their maximum by trying to either escape as far as they can or try to talk to the bombers to change their minds.

Concept 77

The movie John Carter was the movie with the biggest profit loss. I think this movie could have saved money if they did less animations and used less machines as a plot story.

The Princess Bride is an adventure, family, and comedy movie.

Adventure: Includes action packed quests that must be solved by the hero.

Family: Family-oriented situations that have problems that are solved together.

Comedy: Includes characters the audience can relate to with comedic situations and funny dialogue

My favorite teen oriented program is Malcolm in the Middle. This show is my favorite because it has a lot of comedic skits and the characters are very well developed.

Concept 74 #1

My favorite types of films are horror films but not the bloody kind, I enjoy the suspenseful or demonic possession films. Some of the aspects I like about horror films are the music, the events leading up to the most scary part, and the acting.

Script Techniques

Dialogue Means Nothing: -There is no need to fill a script wtih useless dialogue. -One character needs to be doing something while the other one is talking. -Watch the eyes for the truth.

Keep the Story Simple: -Take out what you don't need , (keep the story simple and the characters unique)

Characters Must Break Cliche: Lisa- simple, blonde, fashionista, but later she becomes a detective. Create unexpected characters.

Use Humor to Add Tension: Postpone the element/outcome of danger.

Two Things Happening at Once: Situations have to be contrasting ( one situation is the main focus and the other one interupts it) Lisa going into the apartment contrasted with Miss Lonelyhearts possibly commiting suicide.

Suspense is Informtaion: Dramatic irony, Thorwall doesn't see Lisa hiding in the apartment.

Surprise and Twist: -Dog dies. - Letter from Mrs.Thornwald,  He=She in Psycho

Part II
Some techniques that were used were Dialogue Means Nothing. These were the scenes that were almost all action and no dialogue. Like the scene where Thornwald enters Jeff's home and Jeff begins to flash the camera light towards him.

Two things Happening at Once: When Jeff is about to fall out the window and all the neighbors walk out to witness.

Rear Window

1. One technique used is the music. The music gets dramatic in order to put suspense into the movie.
2. The close-ups in the movie give the viewer a sense of mystery just like the characters in the movie are feeling.
3. There are wide shots that show the entire building and all of the windows. This shows some creepiness because the stalker can choose anyone from all of the windows.

Film Festival Reflection

The experience at  the film festival was really rewarding. I never really watch documentaries and I got to see a great documentary, No Look Pass, which focused on a Harvard basketball player. The other film I watched was Memesis which was a horror movie about zombies which was entertaining to watch. The film festival had very friendly staff and at the beginning of each movie their was a short message from a speaker which is never seen when watching a regular movie at the theaters.

Not all of the characters in my script will have a big speech because if too many characters have one it will bore the audience.

My favorite music video is the video for the song November Rain by Guns N Roses. The video is very long but when you watch it without the music the video it tells a story. The emotions that are portrayed are love, sadness, and anger. The lyrics do go hand with the lyrics.

GENRE - Activity #1 & 2

1.  Genre is what type of category a movie falls under. My favorite movie type of genre from the categories; Western, Musicals, and Thriller is Thriller movies.  A couple of thriller movies that I enjoy are Clockwork Orange, Public Enemies, and Insidious. What makes a movie a thriller are stories with a concept about murder, conspiracy, or violence.

2.  One of the best known thriller movies that I have watched is The Dark Knight. This movie contains everything necessary in a thriller but is can also be considered an action film. The Joker murders people constantly throughout the movie, but other villains kill people as well. There is conspiracy at the end of the movie towards Batman, the people doubt wether he is truly a hero or if he's one of the bad guys, and the film is very violent.

Concept 55 #1

I believe in God more than anything else. At one point in my life I didn't believe in God at all, I even went as far as to believe in other things but the most important of all. The belief was not always their but it was magnified once I talked to one of my Aunt's. She has been very connected to God ever since she lost her son to cancer.She told me everything that happened to her that made her know and believe that God was real. I have met people who don't believe in God but they have never challenged me. If someone ever does decide to challenge me I will inform them with all the facts that make me know that God exists.

Concept 53 # 1, 2 & 3
